The Documentation/IST Service of the MSHS is in charge of scientific and technical information. With its documentation centre, it offers master’s and doctoral academic students, teacher-researchers and researchers documentation services to manage and promote their documentary collections and support them in their bibliographic research.
The documentation center, a 530 m² space with soundproofed, coworking and relaxation areas, includes nine thematic collections of reference works in the fields of geography, history, linguistics, literature, psychology and sociology, as well as a humanities and social sciences collection. It offers a comic book library containing about 1500 classic comics and manga on the shelves, as well as works by specialists and research on comics and specialized magazines on comics. Five themes are linked to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine regional research network in comics (3RBD). In total, about 40,000 documents are available.
Three thematic collections have been awarded the CollEx-Persée Collections of Excellence label: CRLA-Archivos (Latin American literature), IEAQ (Acadian and Quebec literature) and Migrinter (international migration). CollEx-Persée is a national network of cooperation between libraries whose objective is to promote exceptional collections useful for scientific research.
The documentation center is open to 3rd cycle and master’s students in SHS, researchers and academic teacher-researchers.
HAL-MSHS Poitiers Collection: The HAL collection of the MSHS presents all MSHS scientific publications.
Disseminating scientific knowledge, particularly in open access, is a central issue for knowledge. In this frame, the University of Poitiers publishes fourteen scientific periodics. To create an editorial environment favourable to the rise of these journals and their integration into the open science ecosystem, the University has set up a steering committee responsible for defining the University’s publication policy[1].
The achievement of the objectives defined by the steering committee is entrusted to the editorial service of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société. Created in January 2020, its mission is to support the activity of the Univrsity’s journals and to integrate them into the general ecosystem of open science. The service is coordinated by Audrey Montépini, design engineer and editor.
The editorial service offers a coordinated and strengthened editorial solution to help them turning towards open science, and to professionalize editorial activities.
